The summer stench came blowing in
From the Big Red C It lingered there at Fountain Square And refused to leave. All summer long, the games were long... And then we strolled the serpentine wall Just Reds fans, and the summer stench. Like painted kites the humid nights they went flying by... The lead was new, but the pen gave back two As Narron sighed. Then louder than...a drunken Cubbie fan it called to you I lost you...I lost you to the the summer stench. The autumn wind and the winter wind They are coming on... And soon the days those crisp fall days....go on and on And guess who sighs his lullabies through Browns/Bengal games that never end That fickle wench....the summer stench...
