He picked the right team to sign with. His agent should have a big bonus check from him this offseason.
That seems to be a trend in recent years, guy no other teams really want ends up being the clean up hitter here.

Re: Reds vs Giants -- 7/5/07

Looks like about a 30 minute delay to the start time of the game...for now, assuming the forecast is correct about the rain cell being out about 7:10-7:15 or so.

Baseball will be played tonight in Cincinnati!....or at least the perception of baseball

Pete said he went Hamilton leadoff and Freel lower because Hamilton's OBP is better and Freel's average with RISP is better. Just thought that was interesting.

Also, he liked Conine's numbers better vs the right-handed Morris

-Trent
This is not encouraging news for me. This lineup may be successful tonight but it will be inspite of the one who created it. The reasoning Pete used is simply flawed.

Conine has 13 at bats against Morris for his career while Hatteberg only has 7. It's frustrating to see a manager make a decision based upon so little data. This is flat out incompetent reasoning IMHO.

That sentiment gets echoed with his decisions concerning Freel and Hamilton. That was based upon 31 Ab with RISP for Freel this season and only 40 such AB for Hamilton this year. What's worse Pete used batting average as a criteria.

WOW is all I have to say.....

Tarp in the process of being removed, I believe...now they have to put all the lines, bases, batters boxes...etc. on the field

The Reds manager could open up his mouth and gold coins could pour out and someone would say,

What?

No Silver?

Is this the third game in a row that EE is not starting?

He's started the whole series until tonight, I believe....I'd have to double check...of course I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

I just got home from work - I have my television, remotes, laptop, cell phone, iPod, and dinner in immediate proximity. I'm hoping to not get up for at least two hours.
