What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

I've decided to split this in the three categories I know.
Conditional pops: When I squat, my knees pop. When I stand up or stretch, my back pops. When I yawn, my jaw pops.
Unexpected pops: wrists; hips (and it hurts like hell)
Intentional pops: my fingers (as long as they haven't been popped within the prior 30 seconds or so); my ankles and toes; my shoulders during windmills

Some things to clear the air:
It doesn't cause arthritis. And yes, I often pop my knuckles in public, and I'll continue to do so no matter how much it bothers you.

Re: What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

The joint where my big toe meets my foot, bending upwards.

I pop my neck by twisting it from side to side.

Knuckles, excluding thumb and index finger.

Every now and then (rarely), I'll feel a tightness in my back, tense my back muscles, move to the left or right, and feel my back crack.

Pretty much all of them. And the people around me are often amazed at the sounds it makes. Knuckles, back, neck, toes.

Same here. Especially my neck and my back. There's a ligament in the inside of my left elbow that will pop over the bone if I extend my arm with my hand facing down. Hurts for a second if I reach to grab the phone wit my left hand that way.

Occasionally when I lean back, I can hear one of my sternum-rib joints popping. Also, I like to crack my knuckles compulsively, but only at inappropriate times (in church, at a movie, etc.).

I crack my knees all the time. Occasionally, I'll crack my knuckles, but they don't always cooperate.

Oh, I almost forgot. I also crack my big and little toes, but not the three in between. One of those OCD things, I guess

I absolutely hate watching someone crack their neck. It really creeps me out

Re: What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

Knees pop every time I squat. Used to be a catcher, don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Crack my knuckles all the time. Used to be able to crack nearly every vertebrae in my back with a trunk twist. Those days are gone now as my back is much stiffer, and I wonder if I didn't do some damage with that routine.

Re: What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

I pop my fingers in a couple different places, including my thumb. I can pop a bunch of the vertebrae in my back as well, but sometimes I wonder if I'm damaging myself as well. My knees often pop in the mornings and when i squat. And I can pop my big toes but none of the others.

My left knee sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies. Especially if I'm going up or down stairs.

Plenty of other joints creak and moan, too. Too many to count here.

Re: What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

I sleep on my back with my arms folded over my chest. When I wake up in the morning my elbow joints are extremely stiff. When I straighten my arms it sounds like two gunshots going off. When I do this in the morning ... my wife has woken up more than a few times asking what the heck was that?

My knees will crackle if I squat and have since I was 12 or so. My high school baseball coach asked me if I wanted to catch one year. I did a squat and then stood up ... he heard my knees creaking and said, your going to be in the OF this year.

I can pop my ankles.

Mrs. Gonelong has what I call monkey feet. If she lost both hands in an accident I don't think it'd even slow her down, she'd just use her feet. She can crack the knuckles on her toes just by flexing them. She can also spread her toes to do the live long and propser Spock thing.

I don't crack my knuckles, even the thought of it gives me the willies.

Re: What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

On Purpose: hands, especially my thumbs. I tore a tendon in my thumb one time and part of the therapy was to bend my thumb over my index finger. When I would do this, the thumb would crack, sometimes 4 or 5 times in a row. I haven't been able to break the habit of doing this since the rehab and this was 20 years ago. I even do it on my other thumb. Can't stop for the life of me.

My knees crack, and I have something in my lower back that will pop when I move in a certain way.

I love it when my chiropractor twists my neck and that cracks. That is the most awesome thing ever.

Re: What Joints Do You Pop/Crack?

Nothing is intentional these days. I cracked my knuckles so much when I was a teenager that they won't crack anymore. My left elbow, the one I broke a while back and had the surgery on, will make interesting noises every now and then, even though it's as strong as it was before the break. Maybe that has something to do with the three screws that are in there.

Left Shoulder - Landed on it when I went over the handlebars mountain biking about 8 years ago. That and my sciatica are my own internal alarm clock.

Had a bout with some symptoms one day. Oh my gosh, I've never felt pain like that.
