Re: Bailey sent down....for now

Hmm, just a move to get him a start after his regular rest at Louisville during the AS break. I'm guessing...hoping...

edit -- fine, change the title after I post and now I look like a maroon.

might also be because of Hamilton as well. He's going to be in a cast til Thursday when Doc Krimcheck will examine it in New York.

Re: Bailey sent down....for now...it is the break, you know

I didn't want him up with the big club in the first place, so I'm not sorry to see this move. Could it be a move intended to create roster space for an ML-ready starter, soon to be acquired in a trade?

No. It's a move so he can start in Louisville on normal rest. No reason for him to sit 10 days up here....he's the 5th starter in the rotation after the All-Star break

Yep, and with Hamilton out today that means the Reds need a BU IF too, because Freel will be in the OF

Is something up?

Homer Bailey was sent down to AAA today....July 8th, in order to make his next scheduled start.

Since he was sent down, he is not eligible to come back up for 10 days, unless certain things happen (injury? trade? I don't know all the rules)....that puts him eligible on July 18th...

His next scheduled start for the Reds is July 16th...

Someone else is going to have to pitch that game though, because the fifth game after the All-Star Break is only ninth day that he will have been in Louisville. He isn't eligible to be recalled until July 18.

Exactly what i was thinking...."YOU are OBSOLETE."

I think Burgess Meredith would hit better than Castro right now.

I saw that actor who was the quasi fascist on that TZ episode....on Law and Order about 5 years ago.....talk about hanging in there... it's like being in Triple A for for 30 years with occasional cups of coffee.
