7-13-07 vs Mr. Met
Lineup per C Trent:
Freel 3b Hopper cf Griffey rf Phillips 2b Dunn lf Hatteberg 1b Gonzalez ss Ross c Harang p Hopper batting 2nd. It's scraptastic!

Well, at least the Mets won't pitch around Dunn..........
I think Petey Mac draws numbers for his lineup construction the way some Catholic churches call Bingo Night.

I'm going and I don't see EdE. WEAK!
But thank God Harang is throwing. I'd be throwing (up) if Lohse was pitching. |

Maine has been throwing well for the Mets.
Guess its "manufacturing runs" time. BP has a .749 OPS this year in the cleanup spot.

Re: 7-13-07 vs Mr. Met
11 Reds have at least 100 AB.
OBP 1. Hatteberg, .407 2. Griffey, .391 3. Hamilton, .371 4. Dunn, .355 5. EE, .348 6. Conine, .326 7. Hopper, .323 8. Phillips, .322 9. Freel, .307 10. Gonzalez, .295 11. Ross, .248 SLG 1. Griffey, .566 2. Dunn, .544 3. Hamilton, .543 4. Hatteberg, .489 5. Phillips, .478 6. Gonzalez, .442 7. Conine, .412 8. Ross .401 9. EE, .385 10. Freel, .361 11. Hopper, .339 Now I see how it works. Hitting high in the order isn't about getting on base. It's about not having any power whatsoever.

3 of the top 4 spots in the order are occupied by low OBP guys. Nice.

I hope Freel and his Amazing Versatility are being showcased for interested parties.

Play Keppinger at third base if Encarnacion isn't going to play.

Re: 7-13-07 vs Mr. Met
I wonder if Mac knows that Dunn hits lefties better than Hopper and Freel hit anybody.

Remember: Ryan Freel is the Reds' SPARK (he'll cause a short circuit every time).

Re: 7-13-07 vs Mr. Met
I'm beginning to wonder if anyone remotely identified with this franchise can pick a manager... Bowden - Boone Bowden - Miley O'Brien - Narron Krivsky - Narron Macklanin (not fair, I know). All basically have done the same thing leading me to believe that maybe, just maybe, all the good managers are gone. |
