Milton Loo Question on BA Chat

Don't know if I can post it because it may have been a subscriber chat. But they basically said that he was still dealing with personal issues and it was a chance that he will be back during instructional league.

He's been Zack Greinke'd. Let the guy work his issues out and see what happens from there

Re: Milton Loo Question on BA Chat

Did a bit of a research on Milton recently and contacted someone familiar with the situation.

According to him,

He is from a tiny island (Molokai, pop. 7,000) and it was a big adjustment just for him to go to JC in Arizona. He is a spectacular talent, but stayed home, leading to
the suspension, after the birth of a child. A couple things he pointed out were, the Reds were ready to make him a top-10-round pick out of HS -- and he was on board until the last interview, when he said he was going to Yavapai CC, where, btw, he tore it
up in a wood-bat league. Reds drafted him anyway, in the 17th round out of
HS and again after his freshman season in the ninth round. He went back for
his soph season and his team got to the NJCAA championship game. He signed
right after the champ game, just a day before his Reds rights ran out.

His best GUESS is he's done with pro baseball, but that is purely a guess.
He also pointed out he didn't know how many more chances the Reds will give him.
Milton wasnt the greatest hustler in HS baseball, but still, an unbelievable talent in the MIL, which has produced Shane Victorino of the Phillies and Kurt Suzuki of the A's in recent years.

Not sure what will happen in the long run, but its also my guess that he is finished with the Reds.

Bummer if it turns out that way! I wonder if he would consider playing if we dealt him to a team on the West Coast. If we could get 80 cents on the dollar that would be worth a shot at this point.

The Reds really haven't invested much in this kid, and if he has the talent he's rumored to have, they'll give him all the chances in the world to come back around and try pro ball again.

I'd like to think so as well. Hope there is a Milton Loo sighting sometime this spring.
