7-30-07 Minor League Updates

Louisville is up 6-0. Aaron Herr is playing very well last couple games. Had his 12th homer today as well as a double.

Other notables:

Bruce: 0-1, BB
Cantu: 1-2
Jorgensen: 2-2
Votto: 1-2, K

Gardner shutting down Charlotte right now,
3.2 IP, 2 H, 3 K's

As I type this Ryan Sweeney hit a ground rule double.

Re: 7-30-07 Minor League Updates

Anyone think Herr gets a shot at the majors this year?

His current line is:

.276 AVG
25 2b's
11 HR
.327 OBP
.451 SLG
.778 OPS

He might not be anything special but the Reds have nothing to lose so they should at least see what he can do.

The Reds have enough OBP challenged hitters on the big club. I'm not sure they need another one.

Is a Herr a 3B? No way he should take ABs away from Edwin the rest of the year.

B.J. Szymanski scored the only run for Sarasota and also threw a runner out at home to end the top of the 7th.

Ricky Stone gets another save as Louisville wins 6-3. They are now only 1 game under .500 for the season at 54-55.

Sarasota lost 3-1. Manuel got the L and is now 6-4 with a 2.89 ERA. He is already 24, but he has a nice K:BB ratio of 76:13.
