Gonzalez back, Lizard called up

C. Trent spotted him in Washington according to his blog, so it stands to reason he'll be activated.

Maybe he's just with a tour.

Well, I guess Mark Bellhorn can go back to Louisville now.

Good to hear he's back with the team. I hope his son is doing better.

Hopefully his son is getting well ... from an on field standpoint he didn't seem to be missed.

Now official, Gonzalez back and Elizardo Ramirez called up according to team press notes. Castro resumes his place on the DL.

I hope EZ gets a chance to start. Like Gosling, he's more of a law of large numbers guy.

I can't imagine they'll have Ramirez do anything but start.

My guess is that EZ is the sacrificial lamb that will get thrown out there every 5 days whether he gets pounded or not in order to keep the Reds from having to bring up someone they like better for the time being.

Re: Gonzalez back, Lizard called up

EZ was not bad before Narron abused him last year. He is still young, and his stuff and command are better than most other options. The key for him is keeping the HR rate down.

If he's healthy--and that's a big "if"--I'll say he matches Lohse's numbers to the end of the season. Without much of a hitch.
