Re: What sort of gas milage do you get?
It's fairly heavy, and the automatic transmission is a power hog. Most of my driving is in neighborhoods, so I do a lot of starting and stopping. If I drive on "normal" city streets (35 mph, not hitting every stoplight,) I can get 18-20 mpg.

Re: What sort of gas milage do you get?
Part of the "game" is what kind of gas you're burning. If you have a car that burns 87 octane and gets 30+ MPG you're golden.
My convertible gets over 30 on the highway but gets about 26 for all around, everyday driving in the summer. In the winter it drops to about 24 but it never gets less than 20. Considering that it's made to run on regular gas I think that's pretty good. |

Re: What sort of gas milage do you get?
A few more details. I drive a 2007 Dodge Sprinter, made by Mercedes but sold here under the Dodge name. It has a 6 cylinder Mercedes diesel. Empty on the highway I can get 25-27 if I'm not driving too fast, but with a full load I can still get between 18-20, 23 with a partial load. Last week I made $3800 and burned $500 in fuel. That's a pretty good profit margin, much better than my last van.

You won't win too many races that way.

Re: What sort of gas milage do you get?
I drive a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro that averages around 22-24 mpg. I also have a 1992 Corvette that gets 22-25 mpg, which just amazes me, since it has a 300 HP V-8. Both drink only premium though.
My wife has a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica that only gets around 19 mpg, and my son drives a 2000 Ford Ranger 4X4 that gets about 18 mpg.

Re: What sort of gas milage do you get?
I used to drive 60 miles a day (in heavy traffic) when I lived in Atlanta and I sure don't miss it.

I had a vehicle (actually, I had two in a row) that got 50 mpg, but I sold them both.

30-33 MPG in the Vibe.
I certainly don't miss the Jeep Cherokee when it comes time to fill up.

Re: What sort of gas milage do you get?
My Tahoe gets about 24 - 26. My G6 gets about 24 - 26. Which amazes me.
