Reds defensive improvement
The team ERA isn't getting better. The hitting is good, but was pretty good throughout the season. Statistically, the area that has really improved during this win streak is defense.
The Reds now have 76 errors, one of the better marks in the league. Tied for 10th and 11th in errors. In other words, only 5 teams have fewer errors (NL). I understand that Keppinger doesn't have the range of the most athletic shortstops, but he only has 1 error since he came up. Gonzo, who uncharacteristically had 15 errors this year, has been out. EE's defense has vastly improved. I don't know if there is any correlation with the won-lost record, but worth noting. Now, about that starting pitching. . . . |
