Same here, if you define "hearbroken" as "now a Cardinals fan."

Re: Cardinals sign Jason LaRue

I notice there is nothing from Ed complaining about the front office doing nothing in reaction to this particular signing.

Re: Cardinals sign Jason LaRue

It's not every team that can sign a guy who is coming off a year with a 1.92 Rc/27.

Worst RC/27 in the 21st century, 150 PA min

Code:
RUNS CREATED/GAME YEAR RC/G AB
1 Brandon Inge 2001 1.47 189
2 Jorge Fabregas 2002 1.57 155
3 Donnie Sadler 2001 1.61 185
4 Enrique Wilson 2001 1.63 228
5 Terry Tiffee 2005 1.66 150
6 Raul Chavez 2004 1.71 162
7 Keith Ginter 2005 1.73 137
8 Jermaine Dye 2003 1.91 221
9 Paul Bako 2006 1.91 153
10 Jason LaRue 2007 1.92 169

I think 6 of those guys have played with the Royals before.

Prediction time..
LaRue (if he makes the team that is) will have a big game next year vs the Reds, and 4 threads will be started about how dumb we were to let him go

That's a given. JL will take a Red's reliever deep in the 8th, run around the bases rapidly with his chest puffed out. Izzy will get the save and Ryan Franklin the W.

I should cross the picket line and write for TV. I can usually predict the plot twists as the shows unfold, anyway...

Re: Cardinals sign Jason LaRue

At the very least it appears the new Cardinals FO understands the importance of defense at the catcher position.

I beg to differ. Jason LaRue is hardly a great defensive catcher.

Didn't he lead the world in passed balls at one point?

I bet if Gonzo signed with the Cardinals, he'd then be good.

They're both getting old, but remember: 1. Larue is a back up and 2. Gonzalez makes $4 million more.

Larue could easily suck anymore at catcher, I don't know. But the guy used to be a very good catcher.

That would be 2002 when he had twenty passed balls. A majority of those (8) while catching knuckleballer Jared Fernandez.
