Interesting Update from Fay

Quote:
Wayne Krivsky happened to be touring Dr. Tim Kremchek's facility when right-hander Scott Williamson was throwing. So are the Reds interested?

"He looked good," Krivsky said.

He left it at that.

Wiliamson has a great arm when healthy. He still lives in the area. Stayed tuned.
Doubt its much but could be something to keep an eye out on.

The thing is Williamson is always unhealthy and always at Kremchek's facility. When he's healthy he's good obviously but those moments are few and far between. A cheap minor league deal would never hurt so we can give him a look, but in the end I can't see him staying healthy unfortunately.

MLBTR (Trade Rumors) has Scott Williamson signing with the Giants already.

No more Scott Williamson. Seeing Scotty bounce those 58' forkballs up to the plate with RISP was almost as scarey as watching the Majik man come in last year. I agree with Carolina Redleg. That ship has sailed, indeed.

Re: Interesting Update from Fay

Per Rotoworld: Giants signed RHP Scott Williamson to a minor-league deal and invited him to spring training.

Not a bad gamble for the Giants, who add the 32-year-old Williamson at almost no risk. If he stays healthy, which is a huge "if," he would add some very affordable depth to the bullpen.

I assume the Giants will have about as much success with this Williamson signing as they had when they signed Matt Anderson to a similar deal a couple years back.
