Fantasy Trade Advice

I'm in a 10-man, NL only league which does an auction style draft. I have Russell Martin as my catcher for two seasons at $15. I have been offered catcher Benjie Molina ($9) and Chad Billingsley ($6) and their contracts don't expire till after the 2009 season.

So, would you pull the trigger to this deal?

No. Molina is just not that great of a catcher fantasy wise. Billingsley is a pretty decent pitcher but a guy like him is easier to replace than someone of Martin's rank. Russell will get you all five categories from the catcher's spot = NICE!

You don't do this. I don't know how you can even consider it. You have the best catcher by far in NL only, and you'd trade it for an old guy like Molina? He's decent now but has no future value. Billingsly isn't even close to a top tier starter even in NL only. Not worth it.

Re: Fantasy Trade Advice

Martin is by far the best player in the trade and for a pretty good price ($15) considering Molina's cost ($9)...
