Re: 2.27.08 ST opener v Phillies
Seems like Bruce is going to need to have a MONSTER spring to have any shot of making the team out of ST... and even then I'm not really sure if it can happen, b/c he needs to play every day and it appears the Reds are pretty much decided on who will be their CFers.

Re: 2.27.08 ST opener v Phillies
Do they usually use a DH in ST games that involve two NL teams? I don't remember that from the past.
Interesting to see the two phenoms batting back to back. Also I hope if Bruce has a monster spring that he makes the team. That would be a very bad disservice to him and the team if he didn't.

I don't either. A few times the Reds asked permission to do it so Jr. could get ABs and not play the field but otherwise I don't remember that happening.

It may only be the first game of spring training, but I'm pumped to flip on the radio in about 90 minutes and finally have a chance to listen to some live baseball.

You can try WLW's web site but I don't know if it will be on.

I have had some luck in the past with www.athensi.com. Click on the WATH link. If you can spring for it you should get the MLB.com audio. It's only $14.95 a year and that includes every regular season MLB game. Although not all spring traiing games are broadcast. I just got it yesterday for the upcoming season.

Re: 2.27.08 ST opener v Phillies
Incidentally, one way to get MLB.TV/Gameday Audio for cheap is to sign up for the MLB Extra Bases credit card. Make a couple purchases, wait until your first statement... then you should get 10,000 points to redeem. It says you get a $50 MLB shop gift card, but what you actually get are points to redeem in the Extra Bases rewards program.
Guess what costs 10,000 points? A season-long subscription to MLB.TV and Gameday Audio. Normal retail value is like $90, I think. The only problem is that the delay in getting the points in your reward account might push you past Opening Day a tad. 0% APR for 12 months is pretty nice, as well- otherwise it's a pretty mediocre card, but most savvy credit users know how to flip balances between cards so you never pay interest.
