Hairston vs Juan Castro

Who would you go with? Krivsky seems to have a little man crush on Castro. It sounds like Dusty would like to keep either Janish or Rosales. What are the differences in Hairston vs Castro because I think Janish and Rosales are headed for the Bats?

Personally, I think it's way too early to figure out which direction they'll go. We haven't seen Hairston yet, so its hard to compare him against the others. Regarding whether "Dusty would like to keep" any players - he's sung the praises of just about everybody on the ballclub, dude (to quote Dusty) - I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Re: Hairston vs Juan Castro

...can I choose "neither"??

because I think between Kepp and Freel, the IF bench is pretty well set. Or at least it should be.

But with Gonzalez injured, we'll need a true SS backup until he is back.

Kepp doesn't qualify, as he willbe the starter (hopefully).

Hairston, nor Rosales, would qualify as backup SS's.

That leaves Janish and Castro to battle for the role.

And we all know who will "win" that battle.

Re: Hairston vs Juan Castro

if Janish can't make roster now, then he has no business being on the 40 man.

Castro is the Worst Player in Baseball, and Janish would be the backup for the Worst Player in Baseball.

Dusty has been very enamored with his glove this spring so I think he's got a decent shot.

OK, good point; I'll still vote "neither" and choose Janisch over Hairston or Castro.
