I'd love to have a regional here in Cincinnati. It's been awhile since I've seen competitive basketball in person...

Its doubtful that they'd place Louisville and G'town on the same side of the bracket. I believe conference teams are allowed to meet in the Elite Eight but I think they'd avoid that matchup seeing how they've already played twice this year.

Re: NCAA Bracketology:

If Dayton is lucky enough to see their name on Sunday, they won't be a 10 seed. They'll probably be a 12.

I believe that you can play a team from your league in the Sweet 16. Just not in round 1 or 2.

Re: NCAA Bracketology:

There is no way Indiana is a 4 seed, I think they are at best a 6 seed and they deserve to be in the 8-9 game.

If there's eight teams and it's too difficult to make the bracket work by spreading all eight apart you could have a 2nd round matchup, but otherwise you're correct. Also, the top three teams from a conference have to be put into three different regions, so Georgetown and Louisville can't play until the Final Four.

If there's 8 teams, its very easy to spread them out. Put 2 in each region, and they wouldn't play until the Elite 8.

Problem is you have to spread out the other conferences as well, and sometimes you get conflicts. There are a bundle of different rules to follow, and sometimes two teams are forced by the teams around them to take the same spot, so you have to reshuffle things. When you follow all the guidelines, it's actually much tougher to put a bracket together than it looks.
