Teams in need of a CF
seems like the Reds have one too many and a few teams are missing them.

Re: Teams in need of a CF
Sounds like they could use a certain fearless, all out CF that just happens to be the odd man out in many scenarios here. Plus in that park he'll have plenty of room to slow down before going headlong into the walls.

He'd get more time at Dodger stadium, home of his famous taking out an old lady in the stands moment.

Re: Teams in need of a CF
There's a RH bat in camp with an outside shot as 4th OFer.
He's 25 year old, 200 lb, 6"3" Jerry Gil, listed as a SS, but Dusty has used him as a late inning OFer. In very, very, very limited action he has 2 HR and is hitting .429. Two HR in 7 AB compared to Green and Brandon who also each have 2 HR, but in a total of 57 AB. I did not see him in a game, but in BP the ball comes off his bat much like it does off Brandon Phillips' bat. After one session, I overheard the other Philips, Andy, ask Jerry something like, "How do you do that?" -- referring to the numerous BP HRs launched by Gil. Of course it's only ST, with all of its variables, and of course it's BP, and of course he's only been to the plate a few times, but if he's talented enough to have played minor league SS, perhaps he is athletic enough to add a RH bat with punch to the OF. If not now, then perhaps after abundant exposure to the position/real game pitching at Louisville. Anyone know his minor league stats? |

I had to go dig this up - from something I read earlier this spring.
