Growing up in Iowa, my parents (Vic and Ida) had a restaurant. The breakfast sandwich was the EggVicMuffin. Marketing genius, I tell ya.

And McDonald's would make them change the name if they had ever found out.

there was a vegi Burger place in Santa Cruz name McDharmas.. they got sued and had to drop the "Mc" and that was 20 years ago.

First "Big Mack" I ever had was at a diner based in the main offices area of the Coal mining community where I grew up. They called it that cause all the truck drivers drove Mack trucks, and the sandwich was a load in itself..... It was 2 half pound patties with Lettuce, tomato's, onions, pickles and mayonnaise.

McDonald's would have been all over that.

Egg McMuffin, truly was a great invention...

There was a hamburger joint in Hamilton, I'm told, named Mac's and they had two hamburgers; one larger, one smaller. They'd been in business since the 40's, but since they had registered a trademark, they were forced to change the name of the larger one (The Big Mac) by McDonalds.

How about the Big Mick from McDowells? I remember it had two all beef patties, special sauce, pickle, onion, cheese but it was served on a plain bun.
