Our set-up guys

Jared Burton and David Weathers. Burton-9.00 ERA,1 IP1 game, 1 hit, 1 run, 1 earned, 2 so. Weathers-6.75 ERA, 2 games, 1 1/3 IP, 1 run, 1 earned, 3 walks. It is obviously very premature to say that they will do this all year, but you need to show some concern. We will need both of these players to pitch well to bridge the game between our starters and Cordero, and nothing so far seems to indicate they can do it. Weathers may finally be getting old, and Burton may not be able to duplicate the success he had last year.

"It is obviously very premature to say that they will do this all year, but you need to show some concern." It seems to me that any "need to show concern" is hyperbole. Perhaps if Weathers and Burton have the same sort of results in their next two or three appearances, then a need for concern may be justified. Using statistics from a single appearance seems like a silly method to try to justify a "need for concern".

Re: Our set-up guys

Weathers pitched a good inning in the opener, he just simply didn't have it yesterday, but that will happen. I'ts far too early in the season to say he's lost it imo. I'm still ecstatic that for the 1st time in my life, i saw a 1-2-3 9th in a 1 run game yesterday, lol.

Re: Our set-up guys

If we are still having "big time" issues (even though only 1 run was given up and the game was not blown) remake this thread. Otherwise just enjoy

They may very well not be able to duplicate how well they pitched last year, but we are 3 games into the season. If we acted on just a games performance Edwin would be benched and so would Keppinger.
