Re: Your favorite Minor Leaguer

I found out something interesting about Jake Long recently. Although Long was drafted by DanO (twice), it was actually Krivsky's people who convinced him to sign.

Matt Maloney, because I love seeing guys who get doubted succeed.

For a similar reason I am really rooting for Drew Stubbs. I also love great CF defense, so there's another plus in Mr. Stubbs' corner.

Jay Bruce and Homer Bailey. Not going out limb, I know. Just want them to make good on the hype.

Lotzkar and Waring. Really excited to see what Lotzkar does this year. I know Waring's K's could cause a Szymanksi like flame out, but the power clinic he kindly put on last year at Billings just makes me gravitate towards his name in the box score. Also Wood because Volquez has put me into a "changeup" kind of mood lately.

Another vote for Herrera here. I also root for the nomadic vets who aspire to beat the odds and make the bigs, a la Tom Shearn last year.

That's one reason I picked him too. He's an older guy but sticking around and doing well enough (didn't say great) to be a 5th starter / long relief guy when needed.
