Reds Current Stats vs. Career Stats For Discussion/Analysis
Reds Current Stats vs. Career Stats For Discussion/Analysis
I hope that it is helpful to some and, I hope that some of you that are more proficient in the study of game and player stats will give us some analysis on the current Reds and how they effect the RS, Lineup construction an other important information that some of us might not realize. I see what I think are some large variances between the current and careers norms for some players and I wanted to ask the proficient stats individuals why that might be this season vs. their career numbers. I used the non-qualified list because Joey Votto, Paul Bako, Ryan Freel, Norris Hopper, Scott Hatteberg and Javier Valetin don’t have enough AB for the qualified list, Hairston with limited playing time I put in because someone might ask why not. National League - AB Jeff Keppinger - 98 Brandon Phillips - 95 Ken Griffey Jr. - 90 Edwin Encarcion - 85 Adam Dunn - 73 Corey Patterson - 72 Joey Votto - 66 Paul Bako - 60 Ryan Freel - 42 Scott Hatteberg - 31 Norris Hopper - 25 Jerry Hairston Jr. - 18 Javier Valetin - 26 On-base percentage (H + BB + HBP) divided by (AB + BB + HBP + SF) National League - OBP Non-Qualified List #32 Paul Bako - .420 Career - .309 #64 Jerry Hairston Jr. - .389 Career - .325 #70 Adam Dunn - .381 Career - .381 #72 Edwin Encarcion - .378 Career - .350 #96 Jeff Keppinger - .352 Career - .364 #133 Ken Griffey Jr. - .330 Career - .373 #136 Joey Votto - .328 Career - .346 #140 Ryan Freel - .326 Career - .358 #147 Norris Hopper - .321 Career - .375 #166 Scott Hatteberg - .308 Career - .362 #170 Brandon Phillips - .307 Career - .307 #188 Javier Valetin - .286 Career - .308 #199 Corey Patterson - .278 Career - .297 Slugging percentage TB divided by AB National League SLG Non-Qualified List #34 Joey Votto - .576 Career - .560 #43 Edwin Encarcion - .553 Career - .458 #46 Paul Bako - .533 Career - .322 #51 Corey Patterson - .514 Career - .416 #90 Brandon Phillips - .453 Career - .421 #93 Jeff Keppinger - .449 Career - .441 #96 Jerry Hairston Jr. - .444 Career - .358 #111 Ken Griffey Jr. - .422 Career - .552 #154 Adam Dunn - .342 Career - .515 #160 Ryan Freel - .333 Career - .377 #212 Javier Valetin - .269 Career - .399 #233 Norris Hopper - .240 Career - .385 #239 Scott Hatteberg - .226 Career - .411 OPS On-base percentage plus slugging percentage National League OPS Non-Qualified List #40 Paul Bako .954 Career - .632 #44 Edwin Encarcion .930 Career - .808 #47 Joey Votto .904 Career - .906 #75 Jerry Hairston Jr. .833 Career - .683 #90 Jeff Keppinger .801 Career - .805 #96 Corey Patterson .792 Career - .713 #115 Brandon Phillips .760 Career - .727 #118 Ken Griffey Jr. - .752 Career - .925 #126 Adam Dunn - .724 Career - .896 #159 Ryan Freel - .659 Career - .734 #207 Norris Hopper - .561 Career - .760 #209 Javier Valentin - .555 Career - .707 #217 Scott Hatteberg - .533 Career - .773 BA Batting average H divided by AB National League BA Non-Qualified List #16 Jerry Hairston Jr. - .389 Career - .254 #36 Paul Bako - .333 Career - .237 #58 Joey Votto - .318 Career - .320 #60 Jeff Keppinger - .316 Career - .311 #93 Ryan Freel - .286 Career - .270 #106 Edwin Encarcion - .282 Career - .274 #128 Brandon Phillips - .263 Career - .262 #160 Ken Griffey Jr. - .244 Career - .289 #162 Norris Hopper - .240 Career - .326 #174 Javier Valetin - .231 Career - .251 #185 Corey Patterson - .222 Career - .258 #218 Adam Dunn - .192 Career - .247 #248 Scott Hatteberg - .161 Career - .273 National League TPA Total plate appearances AB + BB + HBP + SF + SH + times reached on defensive interference Jeff Keppinger TPA 107 Ken Griffey Jr. TPA 103 Brandon Phillips TPA 101 Edwin Encarcion TPA 98 Adam Dunn TPA 97 Corey Patterson TPA 80 Paul Bako TPA 69 Joey Votto TPA 67 Ryan Freel TPA 46 Scott Hatteberg TPA 39 Norris Hopper TPA 30 Javier Valentin TPA 28 Jerry Hairston Jr. TPA 19 P/PA #49 Jerry Hairston Jr. - 4.26 #52 Adam Dunn - 4.25 #57 Javier Valentin - 4.21 #127 Edwin Encarcion - 3.98 #159 Ken Griffey Jr. - 3.86 #167 Paul Bako - 3.83 #169 Ryan Freel - 3.80 #229 Brandon Phillips - 3.58 #229 Corey Patterson - 3.58 #246 Jeff Keppinger - 3.54 #250 Scott Hatteberg - 3.51 #273 Joey Votto - 3.42 #345 Norris Hopper - 2.67 RC Runs created [(H + BB + HBP - CS - GIDP) times (Total bases + .26[BB - IBB + HBP] + .52[SH + SF + SB])] divided by (AB + BB + HBP + SH+ SF) Edwin Encarcion - 17.4 Jeff Keppinger - 13.9 Paul Bako - 13.4 Ken Griffey Jr. - 12.4 Brandon Phillips - 12.3 Adam Dunn - 12.0 Joey Votto - 10.9 Corey Patterson - 10.7 Ryan Freel - 4.0 Jerry Hairston Jr. - 2.9 Scott Hatteberg - 2.5 Norris Hopper - 2.5 Javier Valentin - 2.1 RC27 Runs created per 27 outs (Estimates how many runs per game a team made up of nine of the same player would score) Paul Bako - 9.06 Edwin Encarcion - 7.45 Joey Votto - 6.14 Jerry Hairston Jr. - 5.94 Adam Dunn - 5.32 Jeff Keppinger - 4.93 Corey Patterson - 4.80 Ken Griffey Jr. - 4.65 Brandon Phillips - 4.43 Norris Hopper - 3.27 Ryan Freel - 3.21 Javier Valetin - 2.79 Scott Hatteberg - 2.44 |
