FanGraphs gets even cooler...
Presumably most of you are already aware of the wonderful resource FanGraphs. It's right there with Baseball Reference and Baseball Cube as the stat sites I visit most. Well, they just rolled even more cools stats.
* O-Swing%: The percentage of pitches a batter swings at outside the strike zone. * Z-Swing%: The percentage of pitches a batter swings at inside the strike zone. * Swing%: The overall percentage of pitches a batter swings at. * O-Contact%: The percentage of pitches a batter makes contact with outside the strike zone when swinging the bat. * Z-Contact%: The percentage of pitches a batter makes contact with inside the strike zone when swinging the bat. * Contact%: The overall percentage of a batter makes contact with when swinging the bat. * Zone%: The overall percentage of pitches a batter sees inside the strike zone. http://www.fangraphs.com http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.asp...=4&season=2008 http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx...19&position=OF

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
