Couldn't agree more. Everything else is secondary.

While of course guys are going to have different performances by spot in the lineup, more than anything else that's just random variation. Guys are who they are. Get your best ones the most plate appearances.

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

You made me think more and since that day when we were posting (I guess we could call it what/if thoughts) so I have tried to look and think deeper by the data vs. opinions that may or may not be a realistic factor, I believe that you are right in that we can trust the numbers, if we interpret them correctly to apply them.
