Jered Weaver

is pulling an Arroyo this year. He got pulled after 3 1/3 his last time out, and he hasn't really looked good all year. His ERA is now approaching 6 for the year. What's going on with him?

Re: Jered Weaver

Bad genes?

Kidding, sort of....I don't know what kind of 'stuff' he has as I don't recall seeing him pitch live, but Jeff had a few good seasons then dropped off, maybe Jared has the same future.

Re: Jered Weaver

If that ends up being the case, maybe it was a good pick taking Homer Bailey over him in the '04 draft after all!

That battleground has been claimed by the Redszone Register of Historic Places, why trod on it?

I think the Reds could trade Bronson Arroyo for Jered Weaver straight up

Sincerely,
Steve Phillips.

Jered Weaver is a very overrated pitcher.

Really? I don't think he's anything special, but I never noticed that anyone else did particularly, either.

I remember him being a sensation his rookie year but other than that I don't recall any comparisons that were totally out of line. IMO, he'll probably end up like a Kyle Lohse.

I guess it's the Ms fan side of me.....i.e. I have to interact with Angels fans at times....

Re: Jered Weaver

He is continuously getting easier to make contact against. His strikeout % has dropped each year in the league. He has gone from 21% as a rookie to 15% this year.

Oh, Angels fans. I don't know any, but I suspect I could shut them up for you if you'd like.

Jared's mechanics aren't easy on the shoulder. He has battled alot of shoulder stiffness in the past.
