Re: Hairston leaves game

What happened?? I swear I switched channels for like ten seconds and the next thing I knew Jerry was out of the game. That SS position is cursed for us this year.

Let's just hope Paul proves that he's actually a defensive SS.

Good.

He has no business playing shortstop.

If only Patterson could get hurt now.

Re: Hairston leaves game

Well unless Jay Bruce can play shortstop he's not getting the call if hairston goes to the DL.I really have no clue who they'd call up.

Re: Hairston leaves game

It would be a great time to call Bruce up. Phillips, Janish, and Freel could split the PT between SS and 2nd and Bruce could play center with Patterson being a pinch runner/defensive replacement. OOOOOO how i would love to see it happen.

Or call up Valaika, it'd be cool to see what he could do against big league pitching.

Freel at SS is a scary sight

Have they said if Hairston is going on the DL or is he just Day to Day?

Re: Hairston leaves game

Janish/Phillips SS, Phillips/Freel 2B. Freel wouldn't touch SS.

Hairston just out with dizzyness anyway.

The Return of Castro???

Just trying to scare you. Not sure Hairston goes on the DL, but if he does, I think the Reds will call up Jose Castro from AA. He was part of the Conine deal last year, and he has a nice glove. Got a look in spring training and according to the beat writers, impressed Dusty with his defense. As back up SS, that is what is what is needed most.
