Grienke's salary isn't little, but he's priced as a 3 win player. There's a very real chance he outperforms that. In fact, give me 2:1 against cliff lee and I'd take Greinke.
Maybe he's not the best use of our assets, but let's not act like his contract is an albatross. Getting a pitcher of his caliber without having to commit 5-6 years is a plus in my book.
Tack on the move to the NL to boot, which tends to boost pitcher's numbers coming from the AL.
