MLB draft is becoming a bigger event each year IMO
It will never be on par with the NFL draft obviously, or even the NBA draft, but the MLB draft has finally realized it can make its draft interesting if they promote it a little better. This will be the second year that the first round and the supplemental first round will be televised live on ESPN2. Plus, I just think fans are much more into the MLB draft than they used to be. The Internet is obviously a big part of that, but I have noticed growth even in the last 3-4 years.
Anyway, I am pretty excited for Thursday's festivities. It's too bad we don't have a supplemental round pick, but we just need to make sure we hit a HR (or pitch a perfect game) with the No. 7 overall pick. There will be some good players available for sure. |
