Re: Dunn playing hurt?
makes me thing that after this season Dunn will move to the AL and become a 1B/DH. Maybe it will happen this year, Dunn would be a perfect fit for the Rays.

What happened to Carlos Pena? I thought he was the normal 1b?

Pena has a .763 OPS this season and that is pretty much who he is aside from the 2007 season.

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
Pena was still mashing homers though. I think he had started turning it on pretty good recently if I recall correctly.

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
11 HRs in 200+ AB. He is one of the reasons the Rays won't make the playoffs. Although with Gomes/Floyd as DHs Dunn would be a big improvment there as well.

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
The Rays really didn't have a chance anyway being in Boston's division.

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
they have a real shot at the wildcard even if they don't catch the Sox. The Rays currently have a 3.5 game lead in the wildcard.

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
That's true, but I just continue to believe that the Yankees will find a way when it's all said and done. I also can't believe Cleveland is really this bad.

Most athletes play hurt at some point...
Being injured's another story.

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
I agree that the Rays best chance is the WC but I think it all depends on whether their pitching will hold up. I think they have the offense

Re: Dunn playing hurt?
you need something that will positively effect run differential. Now if you want to go out acquire more pitching depth that may reduce risk but may not positively impact run differential because the type of pitchers that can have a decent positive impact are generally not available, and if they are they are very expensive in terms of talent.
