It's the right move, just several weeks too late. Hernandez turned into a pumpkin in late May, while Liriano has been on a tear for about a month.

It seems that the Twins may have been looking to trade Boof Bonser to clear a spot for Liriano. Talks with the Giants and Rangers did not pan out however.

Liriano is SICK over his last 10 games: 9-0 2.51 ERA 73K 9BB

a no brainer(for at least the last month), I wonder how many games it has already cost the Twins to this point.

It will be interesting to see where Livan ends up. Surely some club will pick him up.

Apparently they offered Boof Bonser for Rich Aurilia in an attempt to clear a spot in the rotation. They were rebuffed. That Brian Sabean, always planning ahead.

Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
