I noticed last night that she seemed a little bigger than her teammates and a lot bigger than the Chinese girls. I was relieved to find out that she is 20 years old.

Re: Beijing Olympics thread
I don't see it but that's certainly a favorable comparison. I felt so bad for her last night after she messed up on the balance beam. Then she was still thinking about that on the floor exercise and she messed that up too. I would hope there is some redemption for her but I didn't think I heard her name when they were talking about the individual events. Heck, even if she didn't mess up they might have not been able to beat the Chinese anyway. I think getting silver medals is quite an acomplishment. Sure, gold would have been better but it's certainly not a tragedy.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I can't help but stay glued to the TV every night now. These games are so riveting. And once the swimming's over, the track and field event start. This is great sports.

Re: Beijing Olympics thread
Does anyone else here find Beach Volleyball to be boring? I'm pretty sure it's an Olympic sport just for the ratings. I mean, do you actually play better with your suit riding up your butt like that?

Re: Beijing Olympics thread
I also heard that the Chinese girls aren't allowed outside unless it's in groups of three connected to one another by a rope or chain. That's ever since one of their girls walked out the door and got caught by a wind gust and turned up in Taiwan.
