I would hope there is some redemption for her but I didn't think I heard her name when they were talking about the individual events. Heck, even if she didn't mess up they might have not been able to beat the Chinese anyway. I think getting silver medals is quite an acomplishment. Sure, gold would have been better but it's certainly not a tragedy.
Alicia qualified to the vault final so you guys can all drool over her again later this week, LOL

And you're right, even if the girls had hit all their routines, they may not have beaten China anyway because their start values were higher than the USA. I'm very proud of the US girls though because they didn't crumble. They didn't have their best night but silver is definitely nothing to be ashamed of and I hope they use that as motivation to kick some behind in the other events.

The Bonger is taking the mound for Korea vs. US.

The Korean unis are a lot like the ones the kids got at the end of "My Blue Heaven"...they look like sports coats.

Re: Beijing Olympics thread

The team photo from the medal ceremony (5th photo in the MTV link) looks...eerie. 5 girls with big smiles and silver medals while Sacramone looks like she's a million miles away.

Hopefully time will ease the sting and allow her to see that silver at the Olympics is nothing to be ashamed of.

Win as a team. Lose as a team.

I never find it boring to see women in bikinis playing in the sand.

I take it she's not related to these two.

Holy cow....

Sorry to change the subject, but has anybody seen the video of the Hungarian weightlifter who mangled his elbow lifting 115 kilos?

Let's just say it has 'Theismanesque' qualities.

Sportscenter says that US gymnastics team are blaming olympic officials for distracting my new girlfriend before she went on and made those mistakes.

Think Napoleon McCallum, but with an elbow instead of a knee. Definitely one to make you cringe.
