not lately, it hasn't. Not for Reds' position players.

Chatt has been a bit easier than Sarasota, if anything. Frazier should be there, IMO.

Yonder Alonso too?

I'd send Alonso to Hawaii this winter, then start him in Sarasota. If he hits, move him to AA earlyish next year. Like Valaika.

The Reds happen to have a tough High A ballpark and league for hitters. So, many of the hitters have handled AA well. On the pitching side, it's the opposite. Guys like Jordan Smith and Travis Wood haven't made such an easy transition.

But once a player like Stubbs shows he can handle AA, it's not that much of a leap to move him to AAA. He'll face craftier pitchers, for sure, some major league veterans, more breaking pitches. But there's a high talent level at AA as well.

The only issue is whether Stubbs' AA success was a mirage, a produce of small sample size. We will see, but I do like Jocketty's willingness to move position players up aggressively.

As do I. We have been hearing how Jocketty has been sitting on his hands, but I cannot remember a 3-month spand with as much activity on the farm.

He's pushing his non-pitching prospects and it's a thing of beauty.
