This game was tied at 2-2 after nine innings. The Reds took a 3-2 lead in the 13th on a squeeze bunt by Denis Menke, but the Mets tied it at 3-3 in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly by Cleon Jones. The Reds then batted around in the 16th, scoring five runs to take an 8-3 lead.

The Cubs scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to rally for the win. Mike LaCoss retired Bill Buckner and Bobby Murcer to start the inning, but allowed back-to-back two-out singles to Larry Biittner and Manny Trillo. Doug Bair then came out of the bullpen in relief of LaCoss, and walked Ivan DeJesus to load the bases before giving up a game-winning two-run double to Dave Rader.

This lineup brings back alot of memories because alot if not all of these players played for Indianapolis. Montreal had an amazing farm system back in the day.

Oh yeah, they could crank out talent--especially outfielders. Larry Walker, Moises Alou (actually acquired from Pittsburgh), Marquis Grissom, Cliff Floyd, Rondell White, Vladimir Guerrero.... Talented OF's have always been a calling card of Les Expos--back in the 70's they developed Andre Dawson, Ellis Valentine, Warren Cromartie, and Tim Raines.
