I was at this game. Earlier that summer I had made my peace with MLB over the Strike of 1994, and attended a Reds game at Comiskey Park vs. the White Sox while I was on vacation in Chicago--the first game I had attended since the strike. This game was my last opportunity to see the Reds before I had to go back to work (I am a teacher), and Pittsburgh is actually an easier drive for me than Cincinnati. The actual result of the game left something to be desired, but it felt good to be at a Reds game, and I get a special feeling about seeing an away game, and seeing the Reds in their gray road uniforms.
