Ben & Jerry's: Cow milk or breast milk?

Shockingly, the poll on the right margin is favoring cow milk 3 to 1.

What gives?

Re: Ben & Jerry's: Cow milk or breast milk?

Of course, it's fruitless to write to Ben & Jerry about Ben & Jerry's since they haven't owned it since 2000 when they sold it to Unilever.

I'm somewhat sympathetic to some of the issues that PETA raises (the treatment of animals in the meat industry), but the sheer volume of milk used for the production of various dairy products (ice cream included) makes this so patently absurd. It's almost like a Monty Python sketch.

Again, that's what makes this seem like a Monty Python skit. I've seen those pumps up at Young's Dairy Farm and I can't imagine how they'd get the volume they'd need. Not to mention how long it takes for a woman to extract enough for her own baby. Yowzers is right.

Well, PETA has been known to put forth some pretty outlandish ideas but this one really shows an amazing detachment from reality.

And there's something "ewwww" about adults ingesting something that came out of another human being...

PETA is opposed to the use of cow milk (find it abusive); but endorse the use of human milk?

Silly wabbit, kicks are for trids.

Breast milk just isn't the same when it's not on tap.

Re: Ben & Jerry's: Cow milk or breast milk?

I wonder how many women it would take to match the production of milk from cows...

And plants don't grow for the explicit purpose of being consumed by humans (who don't consume them in a way which helps the plant reproduce). I suppose by PETA's logic we should stop consumption of all things not explicitly produced by mother earth for our consumption.

Even if they tried to do it, it would probably be a complete bust.
