Proud to be an American

Took my oath and became a U.S. Citizen today.
Very happy to be a part of this great country!

Congrats. By the way, my wife is studying right now for hers. We're not sure yet when she's going to take the test and all that though.

I was born in Venezuela. I was an Australian when I was younger (my Father naturalized), but never really renewed that.

So. It's American-Venezuelan. Strange combination these days.

After you file your request and get fingerprinted, it takes a while for them to give you an interview (test). It was about 5 months in my case (a bit less for my wife).
The test is a joke. If your wife has a basic working knowledge of English, she'll have no trouble, You only have to get 6 right out of 10!
The hardest thing for some can be understanding the questions, since not all of the officers have nice neutral midwestern accents.

LOL. My wife and I both applied back in April. Once you send in your papers, you have to wait for them to call you in. My wife was done in September and registered to vote (and voted). Mine just took longer.
Probably just sitting under a bigger stack.

I'll vote next time.

I still can't believe you didn't vote this time. Citizenship has never mattered.
