Any Boy Scouts/Former Boy Scouts on RZ?

I'm an Eagle Scout myself. My dad is also an Eagle.

Looking back on my time spent in Scouting, it was some of the greatest times of my life.

I've been thinking about getting back into Scouting now that I'm an adult...

Just wondered if anyone else has any experiences with Scouting.

I had a lot of fun in the Boy Scouts. I never advanced very far, as far as trying to earn badges. But other then a select few in the troop, a majority of us didn't. We were there more for the camp outs, Jamborees, and various other outdoor activities.

Our Scout Master was an ex-WW2 cigar chomping Marine. That certainly was a lot of fun.

I was 5 badges from Eagle and our troop disbanded. Scoutmaster got transferred on his job out of state, and nobody would take it over.

That was a big, big disappointment.

I really loved Scouting.

I'm an Eagle scout. Had a lot of great memories from scouting and I think it's really an activity that takes a few years to fully appreciate the good effects it had on your life. I'm starting to realize just how important a lot of those lessons I learned were now that I'm about 5 years removed from earning my Eagle. Just the responsibilities of cooking, service projects, and other life skills were pretty cool for a young kid. I also did the high adventure week down in the Florida Keys too.

Eagle here too. I haven't been involved for years though and at times I think I would like to get involved again if I can ever get enough time off the road. That was the best part of my upbringing.

I'm an Eagle Scout. I also spent 6 years working at a summer camp in Arizona - some of my best memories from growing up came from that camp, or various outings I was on during Scouting.

Same here. Scouting really wasn't for me.

My parents tried really hard, but it just didn't take with me. I never saw the value of what was being learned. I got to tenderfoot and then they caved and let me quit.

Been an Eagle Scout for about a year now.
On a related note, has any of you past scouts had the privilege to travel to and hike at Philmont, New Mexico?
