i wouldn't do 8 or 9 years either (for any player). leatherpants is nuts.
once teix is off the table manny may be next and we'll be closer to knowing how much dunn will go for.

Those numbers are absolutely insane...
10 years, that would absolutely hamstring any franchise not named the Yankees/Red Sox/Dodgers/Cubs (depending on who buys them)... |

They have the money to spend with nice young cheap guys in Zimmerman/Dukes/Milledege.
They also have a new stadium to fill, runs and home runs can fill it. But they need to spend the money on pitching, and we all know that's now what Bowden spends on. Hopefully though these crazy deals open up a 2nd round of acceptable free agents for us. |
