2009 Spring Training pictures
Manager Dusty Bakers surveys the scene from behind the pitching mounds as pitchers and catchers reported for the first day of Spring Training 2009 for the Cincinnati Reds in Sarasota, Florida. Blue sky, white clouds, green grass and temperatures in the high 70's were the order of the day as the first official workout began. Pitcher Homer Bailey threw 40 pitches in his first drill. Flanked by coaches and players, Manager Dusty Bakers sits on a chair while watching pitchers throw. Catcher Ryan Hanigan in blue blocker sunglasses and his catching helmet and mask. The Reds are beginning their final spring at the Florida facility. Next season they will move to Goodyear, AZ. Homer Bailey practices

Edinson Volquez, biting his tongue, is a study in concentration as he pitches. Pitchers Aaron Harang (left) and David Weathers enjoy a laugh with Manager Dusty Baker. Manager Dusty Baker keeps watch at the batting cage. Bronson Arroyo in a long toss warm up. Johnny Cueto hopes to pick up on last year's success.

Re: 2009 Spring Training pictures
What a horribly unflattering picture, makes him look like the vampire from Dark Shadows.

Re: 2009 Spring Training pictures
Owings practicing bunting? Why so Taveras can come up? They should just let all the pitchers spin to win!

Re: 2009 Spring Training pictures
The guy in the pictures with the #19 sure doesn't seem to be Joey Votto.

He got caught with high grade Canadian Syrup at the border. Canadian officials don't like letting that out of the country.
