    "Adam Dunn is clutch in '08" says Bill James.

    Reading the latest article by Bill James on clutch hitting (subscription required). Here is what he had to say about our good friend Adam Dunn:

    Another guy who had a really good year in the clutch is a player who had a similar winter, Adam Dunn. Dunn had just 59 clutch at bats and hit just .288 in clutch situations—but 14 of 17 clutch hits were for extra bases, including a major-league leading 9 bombs. Think about it this way: The Atlanta Braves didn’t have anyone on their team with more than one clutch homer, and the team total was 5. Adam Dunn had 9. That’s a bunch.
    The winner of the Bill James clutch hitting award for 2008 was Manny Ramirez...

    Ahhhh, it's nice and calm in here at 1:30 in the morning. I wonder how long it will take......never mind I'm sure this thread will be largely ignored.

    Nobody cares what Bill James says. He never played on an All Star Team, or called play by play for a World Championship Team.

    He should get his head outta his butt and watch a game now and then.

    All I'm sayin' is some folks believe in "Clutch", That's all well and good.

    I believe in "Runs Scored" and I believe the first run scored is just as important as the last run scored.

    The baiting that has already occurred in this thread hasn't gotten it off to a good start. Furthermore, while the article may be new, the comments that would follow wouldn't be anything new.
