Ramon Hernandez WBC injury...

If i saw it correctly, the ticker on ESPN said he left the game with an injury, and won't play in the next round... did anyone hear this or have any info on it?

Might just be a precaution thing. I know he did have a huge game in a 2-0 win against Puerto Rico last night-- 3-4, and a huge homer over the scoreboard in Dolphin Stadium.

I think that Hernandez is going to have a pretty good year for us. Coming to a new league, in a far weaker division pitching wise, and playing on a more youthful and hopefully more energized team, I think he may be able to reproduce his 2006 numbers.

Re: Ramon Hernandez WBC injury...

This does not really concern me other than the fact that the Reds might be without a decent bacup catcher. Hannigan is ready to handle the staff. Not counting the experience factor he might be better right now than Ramon. One thing I have noticed about Hannigan is that the more he plays the better he hits. I honestly believe Hannigan could make the All Star team if he gets the playing time.

I don't want to dis Soto any and his ROY title, but not only was he not the best rookie last year, he may not have been the best rookie catcher had Baker not played around with Bako so long.
