That's probably the opening day lineup except for possibly SS....and pitcher, obviously.

If either Hairston or Gonzalez plays SS, they will most likely bat 2nd.

Re: 3/31/09 Reds vs Yankees

Owings threw a scoreless first inning.

Bottom 1 against Joba Chamberlain:

Taveras made an out, Dickerson doubled, Votto walked, Phillips and Bruce both made outs.

0-0 after 1.

On Owings days he could bat further up in the lineup if Dusty was feeling "daring"

Wow! Owings really is looking sharp this spring. Makes it hard to temper excitement, knowing that none of this counts until next week.

Top 3rd:

Berroa singled, was then picked off first base by Ramon Hernandez. Pena made an out. Gardner singled but was caught stealing by Hernandez.

Owings: 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K

No score after 2 1/2.

Re: 3/31/09 Reds vs Yankees

Owings walked Swisher to begin the fourth, then rebounded to strikeout Teixeira and Posada. Nady reached on an error by Bruce which ended up leading to three unearned runs. 3-0 Yankees after 3 1/2.

Owings: 4 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Lots of baserunners allowed by Owings for the second straight outing.

To be fair, it should only be five baserunners through four innings. The error extended the inning and the next two batters got hits.
