AGon likely to the DL

Fay reports today on his blog that AGon strained his oblique last night and is probably headed for the DL. How we will survive without his hot bat is anyone's guess. Fay also mentioned it will be interesting to see who they call up in his absence. Anyone you guys would like to see?

I'm just glad that Dusty can't play Jerry Hairston Jr. at SS and 3rd at the same time.My guess is that Rosales will get more time at 3rd with JH Jr. moving to SS.

You've never seen that Bugs Bunny episode, have ya?

Now playing 3rd base...Jerry Hairston.
Now playing 2nd base...Jerry Hairston.
Now pitching...Jerry Hairston.
Now catching...Jerry Hairston.

Checking the 40 man roster...the only available infielders are Francisco and Castillo. Can't imagine they'd call up Francisco already, so my guess is Castillo...who can play multiple positions.

ack....Janish or Hairston everyday...that's not going to help us offensively...hopefully EE gets back soon so that Rosales can play SS...

Rosales is at best a Keppinger-like SS. He can play it but Janish is MUCH better with the glove.

Hairston is going to so play SS you just have to expect it at this point.

Re: AGon likely to the DL

Didn't Janish make an error last night that cost us the game? You are probably right but with all the offensive struggles, I would take the extra offense over the 'better' defense. Just my opinion...Dusty will play Hairston anyway so the point is probably moot...

Id take a throwing error caused by a runner and a slow moving pitcher over a jeter esque ranged SS every day of the week no matter how they hit the ball.

Drew Sutton could be called up. He is on the 40-man according to cincinnatireds.com.

This is what everyone on this website wanted. We got rid of the old ErrorE, and now it looks like the crafty vet AGON is gone now. Lets see what happens. I bet they bring up a catcher just to spit all of us.

Re: AGon likely to the DL

BTW Keppinger is hitting .364 for Houston. Only 33 at bats, but it just goes to show how the Reds give up on guys who could help them. Obviously we don't have room for Encarnacion, Agon, Kepp, Hairston, Janish and Rosales. But is Kepp really the guy that we should have axed out of that list?

So, if you were the Yankees, you would trade for Janish and start him ahead of Jeter???????????????? C'mon, nobody would do that. Jeter is over-rated defensively but still.

An error is an error no matter the player. I would still take Rosales or Kepp at SS over the toothpick bat of Janish.
