Danny Gans 1956-2009
I was shocked to see that Danny Gans died suddenly over the weekend.

He was a very good minor league ballplayer who tore up his Achilles and then on a whim he tried "his act" at a comedy club. He says he merely refined what he did on the long bus rides entertaining teammates in the minor leagues. He was a vision of health. I'm curious as to what really got him. Supposedly he died in his sleep. He recently signed a $150 million deal with Steve Wynn to continue his show. |

I recently was watching Bull Durham and one of the guys on the team looked so familiar to me and now that you mention he played baseball, it hit me. It was Danny Ganz.
I think he's one of the guys on the bus when Crash is talking about "The Show". |

I saw Gans' show at the Mirage a few years ago. He put on a great show. He was voted entertainer of the year in Vegas something like 11 years in a row.
