Arroyo allows a double to Schumacher on the first pitch of the game. And...we're off.

It's incredibly sad that the Reds haven't either gotten a book on Rasmus or plunked him.

Down 2-0 and Chris Carpenter pitching against this team's offense. Not lookin' good.

Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09

Last two starts, 9 IP for Arroyo, 18 hits, and 13 runs, 11 of which are earned, according to Marty B.

Ouch.

Ironically, Pujols flies out to CF.

One down.

Looks like Bronson is making a pretty good case for being a 5th starter - or long reliever when Volquez comes of the DL.

Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09

Ludwick grounds out to 3b, EE's throw wide, Votto applies the tag.

Two down.

Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09

Disapointing off-line throw from EE, but Votto tags the guy out.

I think Arroyo needs to go on the "DL."
