Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09
Now Tavares can't catch fly balls?

Maybe somebody else's Gully can fix him. I hear tell Eric Milton is still making a living on the mound.

And then Rasmus hits a fly ball to CF, and Marty says that Willy T misplayed the heck out of it, coasted, misjudged it, and it fell for what became a groundrule double.
I will censor myself here. |

Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09
I agree. With the Reds jumping the gun to sign him long term (a lot of that was done in those days), our fate was sealed. We'll forever look back at that period and wonder why Arroyo, Freel, and others were given the extentions given the knowledge at hand (and that includes one Jerry Narron).

Marty and Jeff say "lack of hustle from the beginning" on the fly.
I will continue to censor myself. But, gracious. Pujols intentionally walked to load the bases. No outs. |

Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09
None of this really matters. If the Reds can't score (and they won't off Chris Carpenter), a 1-0 loss is the same as a 9-0 loss

Re: Reds vs. Cardinals - 7/5/09
True. Maybe the 10-run rule will be called like in Little League?

Edwin does what he does. Why is he so valued? I can't even imagine.

That was hideous.

I must say folks, I think my time at the computer listening to this one is about to come to a close. I will do a little more PBP, and then prob leave it up to the masochists among us.
