Re: Friday 7/17/09 Minor League Updates
The GCL fellas, up 3-0 going into the bottom of the ninth, gave up four without a hit. Six walks and a HBP. With only one out. Wonderful.
Edit: Guess I was a little late there. |

Re: Friday 7/17/09 Minor League Updates
Harold Johnson is off to a nice start. 9 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 8 K, 1.00 ERA, 2.80 GO/FO. He's only 18-years old and has a great pitchers body at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds.
Nice to see Billy Hamilton back. |

Doesn't Johnson go by "Jake" or "Jacob".

Re: Friday 7/17/09 Minor League Updates
Here's a fun fact. The lowest BA in the Dayton lineup is .257. Not too shabby

Re: Friday 7/17/09 Minor League Updates
Billings rallied to send the game into extras, 6-6. But they just fell behind in the 10th when Oliveras fielded a double in CF and somehow threw it straight into the ground. The inning is still going . . . Now Orem just scored on a squeeze to make it 8-6.

Re: Friday 7/17/09 Minor League Updates
Billings had two on in the 10th, but Gregorius, who had three hits, popped out to end it. Incidentally, the announcer called him Dee Dee. Or D. D. Or Dede. How ever you spell it, it's easier than Mariekson.

The DSL Reds lost a nailbiter by the score of 24-7. Junior Arias went 1-for-5 with a double.
