The only hits for the Reds were a leadoff single by Pokey Reese in the first inning, a leadoff homer by Reese in the fourth, and a single by Dmitri Young with no outs in the fourth. I was at this game. It was the second time that season that I had attended a game where Ron Villone and Scott Williamson combined on a one-hit shutout, and it was the third game I had been to where Villone had allowed only one hit. In three games in which I had attended, Villone pitched 23 innings and allowed only three hits.

One of the games in this series was the first Reds game I went to. I know it was in July and I know it was the Mets and I know they lost. I'm pretty sure there was a rain delay either starting the game or in it.
