Re: This Date In Reds History (7/25/09): Past Lineups
Five years ago (2004), a 6-5 loss at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
Cincinnati Ryan Freel 3b Juan Castro ss Sean Casey 1b Adam Dunn lf D'Angelo Jimenez 2b Wily Mo Peņa rf Jason LaRue c Jason Romano cf Brandon Claussen p Pittsburgh Jason Kendall c Jack Wilson ss Jason Bay lf Craig Wilson 1b Tony Alvarez rf Tike Redman cf Chris Stynes 3b Jose Castillo 2b Sean Burnett p WP: Sean Burnett (5-2) LP: Todd Van Poppel (3-5) Sv: Jose Mesa (29) HR: CIN - Sean Casey (16), Wily Mo Peņa (15). PIT - Tike Redman (6). I was at this game. It was "Turn Back The Clock Day" at PNC Park, and both clubs were wearing their 1979 uniforms. Of course, the Reds messed it up by wearing jerseys with the V-neck way too large, solid-colored socks instead of stirrups, and their black batting helmets and undersleeves. The Pirates wore their white jerseys with the gold and black pinstripes, along with black pants and their black stovepipe caps with gold piping. Jason Romano left the game in the bottom of the first inning with an injured leg after a two-out double by Jason Bay.
