Other managers and coaches
Just something I've noticed
When other teams have had pitchers warming in the bullpen there is a coach standing besides them with an open notebook watching them prepare and taliking with them. Tonight the Rockies coach looked like he was watching the landing foot of the warm-up pitcher. I saw Pinella going through a notebook recently when the Reds were in Chicago. Tracy had one on his lap all night. Contrast the Reds Tonight was the first time I saw anyone talking with the warm-up pitcher. And it was only over his back as he watched the game. Baker and Pole never seem to refer to anything. All Pole seems to know how to do is turn to the phone. I did seem him refer to an organizer once. Then I heard the Rockies annoucers talking about how even though the team had never seen Lehr pitch before they were able to get 20 minutes of video for the players and coaches. maybe I'm being too critical here. What are others' thoughts. |
